Segismundo, John E., age 86, of Hawthorne, on Monday, December 3, 2018. Born in the Philippines, John moved to the United States in 1986, settling in Kauai, Hawaii. He had lived in Cliffside Park, NJ, Ridgefield Park, NJ and Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada before moving to Haskell, NJ and then to Hawthorne. He worked as a supervisor in Taal Vista Lodge in the Philippines and then as a Time Keeper and Doorman at the Leona Helmsley Hotel in New York City until retirement. He was a member of The Vine’s Church in North Jersey and the Living Hope Christian Fellowship in Vancouver. He was also a member of the Santa Marian Association of Hawaii.
John was the beloved husband of the late Ellie (nee: Pajar) Segismundo (2014). Loving father of Jerry Luis Segismundo and his wife Irina of British Columbia, Canada, Leilani LoFranco and her husband Ricardo of Vancouver, Canada, Gigi Rose Skinner of Hawthorne, Armi Grace Sanseverino of Hawthorne and Jun Segismundo and his wife Armie of Piscataway, NJ. Dear grandfather of Bernice Pueblos and her husband Philip of Vancouver, Bernard LoFranco and his wife Plinky of Vancouver, Matthew Sanseverino of Hawthorne, Brian LoFranco of Vancouver, Emily Skinner of Hawthorne, Jessica Sanseverino of Hawthorne, Amanda Skinner of Hawthorne and Sophia Segismundo of Vancouver. Dearest great-grandfather of Liam, Eleanor and Lewis. John is survived by his siblings Feliza Magno, Lourdes Macabeo, Menchie Tavita and her husband Ben, Ernesto Segismundo, Marcelo Segismundo and his wife Cita, Hilda Sabugo and Fredelina Ramirez and her husband Rudy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. A funeral service will be held at 6:30pm. Cremation will be private.
