Morabito, Giustina A. “Christina” (nee: Carella), age 88, of North Haledon, passed away peacefully at her home, on Saturday, December 8, 2018, with her husband by her side. Born and raised in Paterson, Christina lived there most of her life before moving to North Haledon 18 years ago. She worked as a librarian for the City of Paterson at the Madison Avenue Library, and then at Paterson Catholic Regional High School, retiring in 1993 after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Paterson, where she was a member of Cursillo and the Rosary Society.
Christina (Chris) was the beloved wife of Rudolph V. Morabito for 67 years. Loving mother of Andrew Morabito and his wife Helena of Hawthorne, Rudolph G. Morabito of Clifton, Thomas Morabito and his wife Eileen of Sebastapol, CA, Justine Smith and her husband Chad of Phillipsburg and Regina Canali and her husband Ken of West Milford. Loving grandmother of Laura Smith of Boston MA, CAPT Kenneth Canali, US Army, of Anchorage, AK, Eric Smith of Phillipsburg and Timothy Canali of New York City. Cherished sister of Florence Knapp of Totowa and Robert Carella of Toms River.
Funeral will depart at 9:30am on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, for a 10am funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, Paterson. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 7-9pm, and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
