Moharita, Laszlo, age 72, of Hawthorne, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Born in Linz, Austria, Laszlo immigrated to Caracas, Venezuela along with his family at the young age of 4. There, he raised a strong family and developed a successful career in the cosmetic industry that would prove fruitful when he immigrated to the U.S. in 1997 with his own family settling in Hawthorne, NJ. He earned a bachelor’s degree in both civil engineering and Geology and Mining. Throughout his life, Laszlo was always keen and motivated to help develop others. A proud and dedicated worker, Laszlo worked hard and treated the companies he worked for as if they were his own. He began his career at P&G in Caracas where he reached the title of group manager for the detergent plant. He later moved on to lead Latin America manufacturing as Director and Plant Manager of the Estee Lauder plant. A company where he would stay for 34 years until his retirement. Because of the amazing work he did for Estee Lauder while in Venezuela, he was handpicked to lead the global fragrance manufacturing plant and was transferred to Oakland, New Jersey in 1997. In addition to his work, he taught English to minority communities at Bergen Community College and served as president of the College’s literacy program known as Project Plus.
Laszlo was a devoted father, grandfather and husband. He always put family first and was loyal, giving and generous to his few but long-time friends.
