Obituary

Jeron, David Paul, age 84, of Hawthorne, went to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Born in Jersey City, David grew up most of his life in Cliffside Park. He moved to Hawthorne in 1967 with his wife Barbara, who owns and operates Tri-Key Music Center. After retiring, he also resided in Bernville, PA.
David loved his country and was proud to serve during the Korean conflict as a sailor in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician’s Mate, serving aboard the USS Rankin and the USS Ticonderoga. After his service, David graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked as an electronics technician for ITT, was a maintenance mechanic for Westwood Lighting and a valve tester at Magnatrol Valve. David was a member of the Restored Rusty Relics club in Paramus and the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). He also served as a trolley car operator at the Trolley Museum in Kingston, NY and Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, ME. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hawthorne where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He also attended Schuylkill Valley Bible Chapel in Mohrsville, PA.

David was the beloved husband of Barbara Jean (nee: Ferraro) Jeron and just celebrated their 56th anniversary in July. Loving father of Lauren Jeron of Hawthorne and Thomas Jeron and his wife Linda, of Boonton. Dear grandfather of Lucas, Krystina and Caroline Jeron. Dearest brother of Karen Ambruster and her husband Ken of Haskell and the late Arlene Machovsky (2014)and her husband Joseph (2019). Brother in law of Joyce Peterson and her husband Vern of Hawthorne and Louis Ferraro and his wife Kristina of Randolph.

A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, from 6-9PM.
