O’Hare, Barbara F. (nee Romanauckas), age 90, of Hawthorne, on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
Born in Elizabeth, Barbara had grown up in Flemington before moving to Hawthorne where she had resided for most of her life. A supervisor for Sears and Roebuck in Oakland, Barbara had been a parishioner at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Hawthorne. Barbara served as the chaplain for the VFW Ladies Auxilary #1593 in Hawthorne, she was also a member of Spinning Wheels, the Brownstone Quilting Club, the Rosary Society, and the Midland Park Senior Citizens Club. She was also a former hospital volunteer and Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, knitting, reading, yoga, traveling, and dancing.
Barbara was the beloved wife of John P. O’Hare for 68 years. Loving mother of Colleen Buck and her husband Brian of Frankford Township, Patricia O. Hess and her husband George of Drums, PA, Kerry Ann MacDonald and her husband Max of Lampassass, TX, and Laure O’Hare and her partner Robert Beasley of Ashton, MD. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
All funeral services and entombment will take place privately. Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne.
